When a student calls the helpline, they will first be asked for their name and school affiliation before being connected with a counselor. This counselor will then conduct a brief assessment of the student and why they are calling.
If prefered, an interpreter can be linked to the call within minutes. A plan will be developed with the student to figure out what they need and additional sessions will be scheduled if necessary. These counselors can help with a wide range of topics big or small.
FutureHealth offers engaging online courses on topics such as the opioid epidemic, alcohol misuse, personal safety, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, diabetes, and sexual misconduct.
Each course includes educational documentaries, reading materials, exams, and more. FutureHealth also provides our members with information on nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness.
Each of our educational courses are carefully developed to meet the needs of today's students with up-to-date statistics and information. Starting with a pretest, members go on to finish a course by watching a documentary, reading course material, viewing slides, and taking a final exam. School administrators can view exam information and student progress data.
In addition to our courses, FutureHealth offers a full suite of tools such as blogs, healthy recipes, exercise videos, a hiking trail locator, trivia, peer support, risk assessments, an events calendar, and more!
